Queens, the Renaissance, and a cultural centerpiece for your coffee table.
This is a magazine about Barbara Radziwiłł and Catherine Jagiellon – two queens who married in Vilnius in the 16th century and managed to be exceptional even in the context of the Renaissance. The publication is dedicated to the international exhibition “The Queen, the Kingdom, and the Feelings” at the House of Histories of the Lithuanian National Museum and Uppsala Castle Museum in Sweden. Its content is an international cocktail of authors, luxurious themes, and diplomatic sentiments, suitable for both deepening knowledge and decorating interiors.
The exhibition was conceived and curated by Julija Janus, known as the soul of Slapta meilė. Yes, the same one who knows how to combine silk with politics.
This magazine can be read. It can be displayed. It is an excellent gift that enriches knowledge about the historical ties between Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden. It can be taken as a souvenir, given as a refined magazine, and kept next to a glass of wine as a cultural argument. Because when someone asks what you’re doing in the evening – you can always answer, “I’m delving into the Lithuanian Renaissance.”
