A tour-expedition through 1549 Kaunas Old Town

This is no ordinary tour. It is a journey through time – to a city alive with 16th-century intrigue. You will find yourself in Kaunas in 1549, on the day an important man arrives in the city carrying even more important letters.

Together with him you will walk the streets of Kaunas and listen to what the walls of the old buildings whisper, and what the smells, sounds and people have to say. Whom will you meet? What does that ship in the church mean? What do the people of Kaunas wash with? What do they eat and what do they fear, what do they want and what are they preparing for? And who is Jonas Kopfas really – a messenger, or something more?

The route will lead you across invisible boundaries: from scents that still recall the old streets today to courtyards where not only straw was laid, but diplomatic decisions too. Some doors will open, others will stay quietly locked. Along the way, not only the locations will change, but time itself. Stories will unfold one after another – like letters that can only be read at night.

This expedition is for those who can read between the lines, see more than the shop signs, and understand that real history always has a hidden layer.
